SIPs Panels Ltd were appointed to deliver a large four-storey apartment building in Bangor, Wales working with Wynne Construction.
With the client’s desire to avoid internal timber frame elements SPL developed a SIP/LGSF approach, a first for SPL and one of the few examples of this application in the UK construction industry.
SPL designed, manufactured and installed a hybrid four-storey SIPs and Light Gauge Steel Frame structure
The structure employed LGSF internal structure for walls, floor and roof with a structural SIP external wall and pre-cast concrete stairs as part of the SPL package.
SPL delivered the package within 16 weeks, handing over the superstructure to Wynne Construction in May 2021.
